Large Bertoia Studios 24-rod 'Star of Sound B-2482' copper & brass sculpture. A lyrical and musical sound sculpture with certificate of authenticity signed by Val, the artist and son of the original designer, Harry Bertoia. Hand made at the original Bertoia Studios in Pennsylvania and comprised of 24 copper "cat tail" tops silvered to beryllium-copper rods silvered to a brass base plate. This “Sonambient” groupings of rods strike together and chime when touched by hand or by the wind.

"B-2482" stamped in the brass base by the artist. Retains its original custom fabricated wood box. Purchased directly from the artist.

Born in 1949, Val Bertoia worked for decades alongside his legendary father Harry. Val was so inspired by Harry’s inventive sounding sculptures, that he kept the Studio going for 4 decades. Numbering each artwork that was made in the Studio, since 6th of November 1978.
