George III sterling silver urn. Made by Hester Bateman in London in 1785. Girdled bowl with flared rim and capped s-scroll side handles; domed foot. Gilt interior. Visible handwork. Formerly in the collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Fully marked. Very good condition.
