Description
Hester Bateman Georgian Silver Tea Caddy London 1786. This fine and rare large example of oval form with a beaded band at the base. The main simple and elegant body displays an upper and lower fine bead borders. The front engraved beautifully with armorials surmounted with greyhound courant. The hinged, domed cover is with plain Neo-Classical urn finial. This piece is in quite excellent condition, reflections purely from photography only and is fully marked on the base and with the maker's mark and lion passant on the cover. Measures: 6.50 x 4.125 x 5.00 (to top of finial) inches. Weight: 465 grams 14.98 oz. No key.
