A large Limoges jewel casket with painted enamel figure of a colorful peacock and its surroundings; signed: “Jean Ascal”; with finely pierced metalwork on all sides all raised on four elephant bracket like feet. With a Delicate mesh brass bottom and original cloth interior. French, circa 1910.
