Description
Brutalist and contemporary bespoke 'Meteorite sound system' by Lucas Munoz for Studio Goldwood 2019. Concrete sound system with a power of 2400w. Its concrete craft-made, cave-like structure is designed for excellent sound performance and resonance. It is equipped with a subwoofer, three medium and three twitter cones for hi-fi sound quality. Can be played via bluetooth or via cable RCA. Each unique piece is calibrated by a sound engineer to adjust to its specific sculptural form. Spanish designer, artist and craftsman Lucas Muñoz (1983) is an experimenter, conceptualist and researcher. His area of interest includes communication, materiality, and the structural potential of various industrial components through the new types of significance they gain in the context of everyday life. In a clever and humorous way, Muñoz challenges the generally accepted essence and use of various objects. Who, after all, has defined these things, and why should they be seen as the absolute truth? Muñoz believes there is no border between art and design; functionality is an element of both. Most of his work arrives in museum and gallery expositions as well as private collections. Muñoz lives and works in between Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Madrid, Spain. We can send you videos on request.
