Description
This sculptural wooden yoke, carved around 1900, was once used to harness a pair of oxen for plowing or pulling carts in rural Portugal. As a functional farming tool, the yoke linked the animals together at the neck, allowing them to work in unison. Its worn surface and handcrafted details reveal the traces of daily life and local tradition. Today, it stands as a powerful piece of folk art, full of character and history. A unique decorative object with deep agricultural roots.
