Description
Collection of four Meissen porcelain bird models
German, 20th Century
Largest (parrot): Height 14cm, width 10cm, depth 5cm
This superb collection of four porcelain bird sculptures, was masterfully created by the celebrated artisans of the historic Meissen porcelain factory.
Each bird is perched gracefully on a white porcelain tree trunk, subtly accented with hand-sculpted and painted floral details. The standout piece in this collection is a striking parrot, its vivid plumage of red, green, and blue hues bringing vibrant energy to the ensemble. Two smaller birds, painted in coordinating tones, are captured mid-gaze, looking serenely into the distance. The final figure is adorned in warm, earthy shades of brown and maroon, echoing the poised posture of its companions.
All four pieces bear the iconic Meissen crossed swords in underglaze blue signed on the base.
Rich in heritage and artistry, this finely detailed collection offers an elegant statement for interior décor and is a coveted treasure for any collector of fine European porcelain.
