Gorgeous bowls, decorated with an intense blue glaze & modeled with Nils Kahler's legendary stamped herringbone pattern. Chamotte—also known as ‘grog’, ‘firesand’ or 'fireclay'—is calcined clay containing a high proportion of alumina and produces intense color and finish. With their deep turquoise color and herringbone design, these are classic Kähler! Signed Nils, HAK. Manufactured by Kähler. (Medium bowl is sold, large blue and smaller turquoise bows available - priced each)

Artist: Nils Kähler (1906-1979) was 4th generation Kahler and in 1940 together with his brother ran the workshop. Nils was the artistic director and his pieces were all signed ‘Nils’ to the underside of the base. The brothers went their separate ways in 1968 and the family pottery closed in 1974. -
