Description
Limited Edition Art Deco Style Cubist Bronze Sculpture “Strange Emotion” by Pascal Jarrion
Pascal Jarrion’s Strange Emotion is a contemporary bronze sculpture that reflects the artist’s distinctive interpretation of Cubism, Modernism and the stylized human figure. Created in 2023, the composition presents two intertwined figures reduced to a series of sweeping curves, compressed planes and carefully balanced geometric forms.
Although abstracted, the sculpture retains a strong emotional presence. The figures appear closely connected, yet their relationship remains deliberately open to interpretation. One form bends toward the other while elongated arms, simplified hands and overlapping bodies create a quiet tension between intimacy, uncertainty and restraint. The title, Strange Emotion, perfectly captures that sense of something deeply felt but not easily explained.
The beautifully textured bronze surface is enhanced by a softly varied green and warm golden patina, emphasizing the sculptural contours and evidence of the artist’s hand. Mounted on a polished black base, the piece has a strong architectural quality and can be appreciated from multiple angles.
Pascal Jarrion works across painting, sculpture, ceramic and bronze. His artistic vocabulary draws upon Cubism, Art Deco and European Modernism, yet his work remains recognizably personal and contemporary. Rather than copying the past, he reinterprets its ideas through simplified figures, exaggerated proportions and expressive geometric construction.
This bronze is from a limited edition of nine and is signed, numbered 2/9, and dated 2023. -
