Over-all in excellent condition, faint traces of red-wash and varnish finish.

This wonderful example has a well-defined turned bulbous form with concentric rings at the neck and base with pronounced foot. The lid has a crisp edge with a turned urn-form finial.
This form of turned, covered treenware also became known as “Peaseware,” taken from David Mills Pease family who moved form the Connecticut River Valley around 1838 and settled in the Western Reserve of Northeastern Ohio. The Pease and Brown families continued to produce covered treenware for over 125 years and were considered industry leaders.
