Seguso is one of the oldest families on the island of Murano devoted to the art of Venetian glass, known for the production of objects such as vases, cups, chandeliers and for tailor-made projects.
Seguso pieces were created for European royal families, for the Vatican, hotels and theaters all around the worls; Seguso glass is part of the permanent collections of glass and contemporary art museums, including the Moma in New York, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Corning Glass Museum and the Murano Glass Museum.
The oldest official document of the family is kept in the State Archives of Venice and is dated 3 May 1397: in it 'Filius Segusi' is mentioned in relation to the processing of Murano glass. -
