Swedish 19th Century Faux Bois Petite Painted Trunk

Dimensions: 21” H x 30 ⅜” W x 17 ½” D

A delightful storage trunk from Sweden, 19th century, its pine construction is decorated with a “grain painted” scumble glaze of deep chocolate brown and wriggling lines of honey-gold as a faux finish to appear as wild burls of wood. The flat top opens on iron hinges (no key is present) to reveal an undivided interior for many storage needs across the home. The trunk might also double as a unique side table, it is elevated from the floor on short legs. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
