Description
Toni Zuccheri, abstract glass sculpture by VeArt (the original label is on the sculpture, as can be seen on a picture) in the early 1970s.
The sculpture was originally intended as a desk object (paper holder, or correspondence holder, paper weight) and was created in different color and size variations.
VeArt was founded in 1965 by Sergio Billiotti and Ludovico Diaz De Santillana. The latter, beside being the founder of VeArt, was the artistic director of Venini (as well as husband of Anna Venini, daughter of Paolo Venini, historical founder of Venini and father of Laura Diaz De Santillana designer of Venini)
VeArt produced artistic glass until the early 1990s, during its short history it had Mario Ticco from Venini as its artistic director and established important collaborations with internationally renowned artists and designers such as Toni Zuccheri, Umberto Riva, Tobia Scarpa and many others .
The VeArt brand no longer exists, the company was absorbed in the 1990s by Artemide. -
