Description
This handheld magnifier by Carl Auböck turns a simple optical tool into a small object of ritual. A thick domed glass lens is set into a warm brass frame, its weight and patina emphasizing the hand-made character of the piece. The ring handle—part loop, part punctuation mark—extends the form with Auböck’s signature economy and quiet humor. Both functional and sculptural, it reads as a desk accessory designed to be left in view: a modest instrument that rewards touch as much as use. Vintage condition with wear consistent with age; surface marks and patina to the brass, light signs of use to the lens.
