Pair Carl Auböck Mid-Century Earlobes Brass Bookends #3848, Vienna, Austria
-
Description
A pair of minimalist sculptural bookends in an organic form, lovingly referred to by Auböck as “earlobes.” Model number 3848. Handcrafted from solid brass with a patinated and polished finish, each piece reflects the traditional craftsmanship. Designed by Carl Auböck in the 1950s, these bookends can be displayed either standing upright or lying flat. Fully stamped and marked. Dimensions: 4 x 2 x 5 inches. As handcrafted objects each piece will exhibit slight variations in shape and finish. Small surface nicks are a natural result of the handmade craftsmanship and should be embraced as part of the piece’s unique character rather than viewed as defects.
