A SILESIAN ENGRAVED SCREW TOP GOBLET & COVER OF MARIA THERESA OF BOHEMIA

A carved border with symmetrical, scrolled foliage and a polished cut wreath is set on a disc base. The baluster shaft is decorated with an engraved air bubble, a node, and the base of the cup. The front features a cartouche depicting Empress Maria Theresa with the imperial insignia, surrounded by an inscription, trophies, and standards, as well as an inscription with the designation 4 (see below). On the reverse, cartouches with depictions and inscribed inscriptions: 1. THE PEOPLE AND THE COUNTRY RULE; 2. TO PUNISH IS SIN AND SHAME; 3. THE GREATEST IS SENSITIVE; 4. GOD RETAIN REST UNDER THIS MONARCH'S HANDS; 5. AND LET HER FLORISH IN HER KINGDOM. 6. AFTERWARDS WITH GOD IN HEAVEN, THRYUMPHIREN.
