Arrigo Finzi Silver Centerpiece
-
Description
Arrigo Finzi (1890-1973) is considered one of the most important Italian silversmiths of the first half of twentieth century Italy. He was the only silversmith selected to participate in the ground breaking exhibit, "Italy at Work, Her Renaissance in Design Today", which organized by the Art Institute of Chicago.
Finzi's history is fascinating. I am attaching a link to an extensive Bio in Italian I have found should you be inclined to know more about his history, his stores in multiple locations in numerous cities in Italy during the first half of the twentieth century.
This centerpiece is hallmarked 800 silver and signed Finzi. It is completely handmade and according to my metal expert took roughly a month and a half to make.

Message from Seller:
Established in 1999, by antiques dealer Gail Garlick, the gallery focuses on historical works of the 20th Century. Primarily Good Design shows furniture, lighting and decorative arts from Italy, the US and Scandinavia. Meticulous about authenticity, we maintain a substantial research library. Our preference for refined works in original patina have won us an international following of designers, collectors and gallerists.
