Pair of Dr. Wall Worcester Porcelain 'Scale Blue' Leaf & Twig Dishes, circa 1770

    A C R O T E R I O N is pleased to offer this wonderful, museum-calibre pair of circa 1770, Dr. Wall first period Worcester porcelain bonbon, nut, pickle, or sweetmeat dishes, the 'leaf-and-twig' form soft paste bodies having the very desirable 'Scale Blue' pattern with gilt polychrome under and overglaze decoration, the reverses with underglaze blue 'open crescent' marks, making these earlier examples than ones with the more commonly found crosshatched or "fretted" square marks. Condition is exceptional and considered perfect without chips, cracks, repairs, or wear; a very rare find worthy of the finest collections.
