A French silver epergne from the 19th century, with pierced silver bowls and foliage motifs. Created in France during the 19th century, this silver epergne features a central shaft supporting the main bowl, adorned with pierced foliage on the outer edge. Two scrolling arms spring from this shaft to support two additional bowls adorned with a décor echoed from the top. Particularly praised during the mid-19th century period, epergnes were centerpiece items, used to either display fruits, desserts or flowers.
