Description
A French silver epergne from the 19th century, with pierced silver bowls and foliage motifs. Created in France during the 19th century, this silver epergne features a central shaft supporting the main bowl, adorned with pierced foliage on the outer edge. Two scrolling arms spring from this shaft to support two additional bowls adorned with a décor echoed from the top. Particularly praised during the mid-19th century period, epergnes were centerpiece items, used to either display fruits, desserts or flowers. With its elegant lines and delicate décor, this 19th century French silver epergne will be an exquisite decorative addition to any dining room!
