Description
A mid-century modernist sterling silver water pitcher made by Hector Aguilar circa 1940-1945. Made in Taxco, Mexico and hallmarked Taxco /940 and Stamped for Hector Aguilar. The pitcher is a modern design interpretation of historical pre-columbian vessel. Smooth finish with a bulbous body and a handle that is reminiscent of the stirrup pottery widely found in the archeological site in Latin America.
A great piece that is rooted in tradition but takes on a very modern silhouette and finish. -
