Description
A charming late 20th-century Italian majolica covered table ornament modeled in the form of a ripe plum. The piece is vividly decorated in a palette of three complementary colors, with carefully painted details that emphasize the naturalistic character of the fruit form. The sculptural shape and colorful painted surface give this decorative object a playful yet sophisticated quality characteristic of Italian majolica.
Designed as a covered decorative piece, it can be displayed independently on a tabletop, console, dining table, or shelf, where its compact scale and lively coloration make it an attractive accent. The whimsical fruit form also makes it particularly appealing as part of a collection of Italian ceramic and majolica objects.
Measuring approximately 5½ inches long, 4 inches wide, and 4½ inches high, this decorative covered piece has an easily accommodated scale while retaining considerable visual character. - More Information
