Description
This elegant Italian floor lamp, dating to the mid-to-late 19th century, reflects the refined decorative taste of the period, combining classical inspiration with elaborate ornamental craftsmanship. Executed in gilt bronze, hand-carved wood, and giltwood, the lamp features a sculptural base adorned with intricate decorative details and finished in a warm antique gold tone. The gracefully rising column creates an elegant vertical line, harmoniously balancing the richly ornamented base with the shade above.
The lamp is fitted with a white silk bell-shaped shade, distinguished by its gently flared profile, scalloped lower edge, and delicate decorative trim. The soft ivory-white fabric complements the gilt surfaces beautifully, diffusing the light to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Standing approximately 64 inches tall, with a base measuring about 14½ inches in diameter, the lamp has a commanding yet graceful presence. The shade measures approximately 10¾ inches in height, 18 inches in diameter at the bottom, and 15 inches at the top.
With its classical proportions, sculptural detailing, and elegant combination of gilt bronze, carved wood, and silk, this floor lamp makes a distinguished accent for traditional, neoclassical, or European-inspired interiors, equally suited to a formal living room, library, or refined sitting area. -
