Lazarus Posen Witwe was one of the most notable German silver manufacturers of the 19th and 20th century. Founded and owned by a Jewish woman in Frankfurt during 1869, the company found success as the most popular distributor of silver Judaica objects. By the early 20th century, the company was granted a royal warrant and opened a second store in Berlin. Some of the pieces by Posen belong to the permanent collection of both the Frankfurt Historical Museum and the Frankfurt Jewish Museum.
