The service with radial cut pedestal feet, supporting large elaborately cut panels with an armourial crest decorated with fruiting vine, centred by an arm with intwined serpents.
Provenance
Private Collection USA The service incorporates the family crest of the of famous Twining Tea merchants. Given the date of the service it would suggest this would have been commissioned by Richard Twining who was director of the East India Company and head of Twining. -
