Toini Muona, Large Decorative Dish in Natural White & Stripes Arabia, 1954
-
Description
A very impressive ceramic dish designed by Finnish ceramic artist Toini Muona (1904-1987). Muona was one of the respected art ceramists and trendsetters in Finnish ceramic art and art industry in the 1930s–1950s. Her artworks represent clean modern reduced forms and motives taken from finnish nature. This large matte finished white round plate is decorated with dynamic blue grey uneven lines and brush strokes, which give an impession of mushroom gills. These lines lead the eye to the center of the plate, which is plain white. The back of the plate is white. And signed "TM, 1954".
