Plate in Rosewood, Tropic Art, 1960s - Lot 275A
-
Description
This Brazilian mid century modern plate, designed by Tropic Art, is absolutely stunning. Handcrafted with hard rosewood (also known as jacaranda), this plate has a deep, dark, and rich tone with a stunning natural wood grain. In addition, the wood has been refinished and the manufacturing seal is at the bottom of the bowl. A piece like this would be a great addition to any home environment. Tropic-Art was a prominent manufacturer of utilitarian pieces with a minimalist aesthetic during the mid-20th century. They primarily used high-quality Brazilian woods to produce their products on a large scale, such as Rosewood, Imbuia and Pau Marfim.
