Description
A refined and architectural Brazilian modern dining table designed by Jorge Jabour in the 1960s. Defined by clean lines and a strong material presence, the table exemplifies the period’s focus on structural clarity, proportion, and the expressive use of native woods.
Constructed from Brazilian rosewood (jacarandá), the table features a balanced composition with two sculptural T-shaped legs supporting a generously scaled tabletop veneered in rosewood. The base provides both visual rhythm and structural stability, while maintaining a light, modernist profile that allows the wood itself to take center stage.
Recently refinished, the rosewood reveals beautifully articulated grain and rich tonal variation, enhancing the natural depth and warmth of the material. The surface presents smoothly, with a satin finish that highlights the veins without excess gloss.
Comfortably seating six to eight people, the table is well suited for both everyday dining and more formal entertaining. Its restrained design and timeless proportions allow it to integrate seamlessly into a wide range of interiors, from mid-century modern to contemporary spaces.
The table is in excellent vintage condition, with only minor age-appropriate wear consistent with its period. -
