Carl Auböck Modern Key Large Brass Cork Screw, Bottle Opener, Austria, 1950s
-
Description
This beautiful and oversized, vintage Mid-Century brass key combines a corkscrew for opening wine bottles and a bottle opener for crown caps. This piece was designed and handcrafted by the Carl Auböck workshop in Vienna, Austria in the 1950s. It is model 5970-1, known as the "modern key" which is much harder to find than the more common versions. Made of solid brass, it is quite heavy, making it suitable for use as a decorative paperweight as well. It is in good condition with a light patina and fully marked.
