Description
This very modernist pitcher is in wonderful condition. The hand hammered details are evident and add to the beauty of the design. Spratling’s early mark is stamped on the bottom along with the oval Spratling Silver. William Spratling’s unique blending of traditional Mexican Colonial, Ranchero and Pre-Columbian designs with modern forms have created a place for him amongst the Masters of 20th Century Modern Silver world wide. Numerous books have been written either by or about him and he was the subject of the film, “The Man From New Orleans”, in 1948.
