Description
This refined ink on paper work, "Untitled No. 23" was realized by the renowned American artist Alexander Markovich circa 1985. Using an expressionistic style, full of verve, Markovich creates an image of a solitary figure in "hieroglyphic form". The work which presents an indeterminate figure seemingly in flux-rendered in a style somewhere between figuration and abstraction- "vividly illustrate[s] the Zen principle of constant change", as well as a metaphor for the "modern existential condition." Meditative, deeply spiritual, and visually stunning, this piece is sure to delight collectors of uniquely compelling modern art works, those with an interest in Eastern philosophy, as well as persons with a penchant for all things beautiful. With its economy of form and timelessly modern sensibility, it would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. The piece is documented on page 68 of "Alexander Markovich: A Journey Towards the Divine" and comes presented in a custom gilded gallery frame.
