    Carol Cohen Hamoy Abstract Gouache Painting, Handmade Paper

    Offered for sale is an abstract painting created by Carol Cohen Hamoy (b. 1934) a New York City fiber artist who exhibited works about the people of her city in many museum-sponsored exhibitions for Ellis Island, for the Jewish community, and for the memories of people who had lived in a tenement that became a museum. She honored the history of the immigrant families that came before her.
    The painting is created with subtle muted tones in sea glass blues and greens, light tans, and off-whites. It is likely gouache and is made on handmade paper. The work is signed in the upper right "Hamoy."
    The painting is displayed floating in an oak frame.
