Description
Italian painting from the mid-20th century. Oil on masonite artwork depicting a country landscape with a peasant woman of good pictorial quality. Painting of beautiful size and proportion adorned with a wooden frame with paper passe-partout (faux velvet) which has several marks and a tear in the top left corner (see photo), which needs to be replaced. Painting with pleasant depth and perspective, the painter is good at creating the shadows of the trees and of the character walking on the road (see photo). Framework signed lower right C. Filippelli (see photo) referable to the famous painter Cafiero Filippelli (1889-1973) missing authentication. Tablet exposed over time with protective glass (now missing) with still very bright colors (see photo). Painting in good condition, slightly domed panel, structurally sound frame with several signs of aging. Sight size H 32 x W 50 cm
