CERES WITH HER SICKLE AND CORNUCOPIA
OIL ON CANVAS, 17TH CENTURY FLEMISH SCHOOL
The Roman goddess of agriculture, Ceres, holding her sickle and cornucopia, with a wheat sheaf in her hair.
Surrounded by an abundance of harvest. Fruit, vegetables and fish on the shore of a body of water with an owl flying above.
In a later painted and gilt frame.
Flemish, late 17th century.
