"Stop, Look and Listen", by John Moyers, Enamel on Wood, Circa 1960
-
Description
This stunning painting was realized by the celebrated abstract expressionist artist John Moyers, circa 1960. It features a circular ruby form in the center ringed by mottled burnt cocoa against a cream background. The left side of the piece has a solid black enamel form, resembling a landmass, adorned in the center with a geode-like organic orbital shape. This expressionistic tableau appears against a background of cream, while the perimeter of the piece is wrapped in muted silver metal. With its beautiful palate and idiosyncratic, organic composition, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It retains its original gallery label reading "Maxwell Gallery" and is signed on verso and is in excellent condition.
