PORTRAIT OF CAPTAIN WILLIAM STODDARD, CIRCA 1739
By Robert Feke ( B. Circa 1705 – D. After 1750)
30 Inches By 25 Inches
A very fine portrait of a gentlemen, Captain William Stoddard, set in a rectangular frame, the man facing forward in period wig and dress including a ruffled silk shirt, silk vest and waist coat, exhibiting a dueling scar on his left cheek. The painting remains in excellent condition with very minor inpainting around the edge of the frame and no restorations of any note.
