Description
Sandra Eames is a noted New England regional artist who lives in Maine. When she painted this portrait of her Jack Russell Terrier sleeping in the sunlight, she lived in Vermont, and she depicted the interior of her Vermont home. Her pet terrier is lying in the winter sunlight as it streams in through a window. Around him is the interior of Sandra's home and some treasured antiques from her collection, along with a vintage Persian rug. Sandra paints her own vision with an American Post-Impressionism flair. She studied art in California and Florence, Italy. You can see these American and European influences here, especially with the mellow colors of the painted furniture and walls, the vintage rug, the rich gold frame, and the striking shafts of sunlight.
Sandra resided in Vermont after her art-study sojourn in Italy, but has recently moved to the coast of Maine. She prefers to paint animals, antiques, and landscapes, but she also accepts commissions for animal and human portraits. She is revered for her love of domestic and farm animals, and always brings them and their traits and personalities to life. She is a member of the Southern Vermont Arts Council in Bennington, Vermont and is a long-time successful participant in its annual show. The frame for this painting was chosen by the artist. The dimensions of the painting without the frame is 12"H x 9"W. The size of the framed painting is listed below -
