Description
White Fluke, an artwork by British artist Julian Meredith. Meredith is noted for his beautiful depictions of whales and fish and his works are held in a number of British museums. He has also made huge artworks of whales and fish, including 600 foot sand drawings on beaches, chalk scrapings on limestone hills and rock arrangements in fields designed to be viewed from the air.
Meredith's daughter wrote the following words:
"My father lives in a world where wood becomes water
which flows into fish which fall eaten to the bone
crushed by stone into lime that lives as a whale
formed in a field in a sea full of grass
where water once ran."
Unframed dimensions: 46 1/2" x 96". Sold unmounted and unframed. -

Message from Seller:
Yew Tree House Antiques was launched in 1991, fueled by a passion for collecting the unexpected. Kevin Kleinbardt and Ahna Petersen, with independent backgrounds in furniture and art history respectively, joined forces to focus on pieces with a “soulfulness of character,” as Ahna likes to say.
