Description
A wonderful mosaic of ceramic and iridescent tile that captures the vitality and color of a neighborhood in Paris with small shops, a cafe, a pharmacie, along a tree lined boulevard based on a Jean Dufy 1950s watercolor of a Parisian street scene.
The careful cutting and shaping of the tiles to facilitate replicating the artist's causal manner of illustration in the original watercolor shows a level of sophisticated craftsmanship that gives the mosaic the accomplishment necessary to holds its own in comparison to the deft hand of Jean Dufy.
The size of the smallest tiles are that of a pencil point and the lines of black tile that are finally articulated possibly as narrow as a 1/16th of an inch.
This is a really fine example of mosaic art.
The mosaic is in very good condition. - More Information
