Description
By treating Jay-Z and Basquiat not as two separate men, but as a single, dual headed deity. Berlin has elevated the entire narrative to the level of epic myth Jaynus Basqus. This Janus figure completely encapsulates the psychological tension of the entire series. It shows that you cannot have the Billionaire king without the ghost of the street martyr. They are physically and historically bound together. It moves the conversation past simple pop portraiture and turns it into a profound psychological study of on how modern culture handles power, legacy and transformation.
