Description
In this intimate series of small-scale wall relief sculptures, French abstract artist André Debono explores the tactile interplay between raw industrial steel and vivid pigment. Working on compact formats, Debono cuts, oxidizes, and hand-assembles sheets of weathered metal, enhancing their patinated surfaces with rich layers of spray paint.
Embracing his signature philosophy of "non-mastery," Debono leaves the natural signs of age—rust, rough edges, and raw metallic textures—exposed to contrast with bold, structured blocks of saturated color. The result is a powerful series of jewel-like geometric compositions that bring a strong, architectural presence to small, intimate spaces. -
