Description
A large and beautiful mid Qing dynasty painting of Buddha dating to about 1800. Recently laid on acid free paper and mounted on a wood and paper screen with silk accents. His hand is positioned in a Prithvi mudra meant to inspire energy, stability and confidence. The colors are brilliant and the composition timeless. The sharp pointed fingers and the depiction of the bump on Buddha's head with the bald spot are remarkable.
