Our composition is an early work that features an abstract presentation of a harbor scene with Venard’s signature color palette of bright and earthy tones divided into patches. The sections of color are linear and rectangular, the sky, the water and the still life of boats in the foreground are softer and more round. The work is comprised of cool blues and lilacs in the sky, darker blue of the water and rapid brushstrokes of the brown and multi colored boats in the foreground.
Housed in a gorgeous French frame that measures 38 x 49 inches.
