Created in 2009 to celebrate the inauguration of the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv, Ukraine, Heart Spin Painting is part of Damien Hirst’s celebrated Spin Paintings series. Conceived as an exploration of chance, energy, and optimism, the work embodies the artist’s fascination with color and movement.

Through a spinning mechanism, pigments are projected across the canvas, generating fluid transitions and dynamic forms that cannot be replicated, making each piece entirely unique. Hirst himself described these works as “a massive explosion of energy, full of life, color, and optimism.”
