Emanuel Oberhauser (Austrian 1854 – 1919) “Mermaids, Neptune and Sea Water Nymphs” An Exceptional Oil on Canvas Painting painted circa 1885.
Masterfully painted, this artwork depicts a full scale portrait of “Mermaids, Neptune and Sea Water Nymphs”.
An extremely desirable subject. This definitely belongs in a private museum / collection as its one of the most beautiful paintings in the Genre of Orientalist Art.
Signed lower left: E.M. Oberhauser Frame: 38? high x 52? wide Canvas: 26? high x 42? wide Good condition, original gilt-wood frame.
The paint surface is in good condition and under a clean varnish. Painting is ready to hang. Emanuel Oberhauser was born in Vienna in 1854. The Austrian painter remained active there his entire life. He was specialized in genre paintings, especially scenes from ancient Rome and the Orient. -
