Description
Danish-American artist Søren Emil Carlsen paints a post-impressionist landscape that blurs the line between representation and abstraction. With its open composition, the artist captures the fleeting effects of light that filter down into the first with layers of short, quick brushstrokes. Alternation between soft light greens and warm flesh tones, the work vibrates with a vibrance of mutated tones that have an all-over feel to it. As you approach the painting's surface, the work becomes more abstract, with areas of rich impasto and paint layers. There is a delicacy to the overall feel of the work that is it's defining quality. When viewing it, the subtitles of color will shift in response to the light source. A top gallery light is recommended to bring out the artist true intent. Signed lower left.
