Antique Oil Painting Portrait of WWI US Navy Officer George M. Dyott by Frank Moss Bennett, 1917

This original oil on canvas painting, dated 1917, is a portrait of George Miller Dyott (1883–1972), a prominent British-American pioneer aviator, First World War squadron commander, and Amazonian explorer. The painting depicts Dyott during his active wartime service, wearing the formal service dress uniform and visor cap of the British Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS). It was painted by the listed British portrait and historical genre artist Frank Moss Bennett (1874–1952), who studied at the Slade School and Royal Academy. The artwork is housed in a premium, hand-crafted custom frame by the renowned Los Angeles museum framer Jerry Solomon.
