Description
A French framed Louis XV style oil on panel still-life floral painting from the late 19th century, with dog and rabbit motifs. Born in the third quarter of the 19th century, this French painting features a theme particularly popular in Europe since the 16th century, still-life. Our eye is immediately drawn to the center of the composition, adorned with an exquisite bouquet of flowers set in a wicker basket. A dog and a rabbit, symbols of the hunt, accompany this scene. The dark brown background on which these elements are painted allow the various motifs to capture the light beautifully. Set inside a carved wooden frame, this vertical 19th century floral painting will be an exquisite decorative accent on any wall. Is is initialed and dated 71 lower right.
