American School, Probably New York State.
Ca. 1840.
Oil on canvas.
42" x 30"; 49" x 37 1/4" framed.
Condition: Fine condition.
This charming portrait situated in a landscape has many attributes of portrait painters from New York State. The painting has survived in excellent condition with virtually no restoration or in-painting. The painting also retains the original frame.
Provenance: Groning Collection, Vermont, 1997. Originally found in Albany, NY area. -
