A beautifully painted Edo period (early 19th century) Rimpa school painting of fans featuring traditional motifs in Japanese art: samurai, cherry blossoms, Mt. Fuji, waves, and more. A vibrant celebration of art appreciation and craftsmanship with careful rendering of many different Japanese painting styles. Mineral pigments on mulberry paper accented with gold dust on a gold leaf ground and mounted with a lacquer frame.
