    Original watercolor and gouache on archival paper executed by the American artist, Joel W. Reichard. Signed lower right. Circa 1960. Condition: Good. Framed in original wormy chestnut frame 21 by 23 inches overall.

    Biography: Joel Reichard
    Joel Reichard was born in Bourbon Township, Marshall County, Indiana in 1909. He attended the John Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana and the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois.

    At the Herron, Reichard studied a curriculum created by T. C. Steele and J. Otis Adams, two important regionalist landscape painters. At the Art Institute he discovered watercolor, which occupied most of his professional career.

    Permanent collections of his work hung at the University of Florida, De Pauw University and Indiana University, the Tri-Kappa Collection in Nashville, the Swope Gallery in Terre Haute and Loch Haven Art Center in Orlando.
